Wave Energy Scotland (WES) is seeking to recruit a Senior Innovation Engineer who will be responsible for the design and development of the WES innovation programme.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will work with a team of technical staff to define and develop innovation programmes to support the WES strategy of developing cost competitive wave technology.

As Senior Innovation Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for capturing the lessons learnt from past and future wave energy research and innovation programmes and for the collation, analysis and dissemination of this knowledge.

Some of the key duties for the job post include overall responsibility for development and running of WES innovation calls, developing and maintaining the WES performance metrics, as well as managing the application assessment process in response to WES innovation calls.

The deadline for applications has been set for July 24, 2016.

WES is fully funded by the Scottish Government and has a budget of £10 million until the end of the financial year in 2017.

The organisation was established in December 2014 as part of Highlands and Islands Enterprise, at the request of the Scottish Government, to support the development of wave energy technologies in Scotland.
